Russian Dancer Anna Konchakovskaya Life Is A Dance

Updated on September 2, 2012

Anna Konchakovskaya

Anna Konchakovskaya is breathe taking. Originating from Russia, this sensual dancer has become an Internet and You Tube sensation.

As a young girl, Anna had a dream of being an artistic gymnast. She trained hard to become a member of the Russian Olympic team. However, her dream was cut short as her parents wanted her education to take first priority. After 9 years of intense training she gave up on her dream and attended the Plekhanov Economics Faculty. She has earned a degree in economics.

Never did she think she would one day become a dancer. At a club one evening she was approached by a local DJ. He was very familiar with Anna as an artistic sport gymnast and asked if she would be interested in combining her talent of gymnastics and dance. Needless to say, Anna auditioned and was accepted.

Although Annas dance is labeled "Go-Go dancing" which causes some to automactically think of smoke filled bars and removing clothing for money, this is far from what her performances are. As she very easily explains,

"Night clubs are for dancing and those "other" bars are for stripping. Any self-respecting person would choose the first".

Using the skills from her training, she often uses stretching, flexing and gymnastic ribbons and hoops in her performances.

"The dance should not only please the eye, but also carry a certain emotional message".

Anna was approached by Masha Tsigal at the club she was working and asked to model. This chance meeting opened many doors for her. Anna has done runway as well as print. It is expected for her to break into dance as she walks the runway, often using her trademark move, the side split as seen below. Walking up and down on a stage isn't quite her forte' , as her true passion remains to perform gymnastic through dance. Her emotional message is obviously shown with each move.

According to an interview with Geometria.ru, Anna states that there are advantages and disadvantages in her life of dance. Some advantages to her fame are that she has been approached to do videos and runway, she stays in shape and the money is easy and good!

The disadvantages are that she is constantly under the eyes of many and rest is nonexistent. She prides herself on being a respectful dancer and expects to be treated as such. If someone touches her or tries to give her money as they would in a strip bar, they are immediately removed. She is a performer that is all.

Anna is single and puts her occupation first. She has made it known to those who ask “Is it me or dance?” Dance will always be the answer.

Most recently, Anna has become a sensation with her YouTube video 'Yess Boss,' which is a silhouette of her dance. Purely beautiful, but a little to provocative for HubPages. She has also been seen in a music video with musician T-killah and Pedro Casanova.

When she is not working the club in Moscow, she teaches dance and is featured throguhout Russia.

It will only be a matter of time before this talented and beautiful girl will make her fame in the United States of America.

Her passion and true gift is far too precious and rare not to be noticed.
